Day 11: mini VBS.
Sunday night we spent the night at the Toma's house in Sendai again and enjoyed their fellowship and spent the afternoon preparing for a mini kids VBS we were planning at a community center in Oku-higashimatsushima. We got the music and the lyrics from the VBS that we had just helped at Calvary Okinawa and God provided craft and game stuff for us to use.
We all practiced the words and the moves to the song at night in front of a laundry mat in the dark...pretty funny and strange if you didn't know what we were doing...
We weren't sure how many kids were going to show up because we didn't really have fliers going around or anything so all of almost thought that even if just one kid showed up, that was good. But to our surprise God brought 9 energetic kids!
We played games with them, did some songs, and a short skit story time of the story of Zaccheus basing the theme on forgiveness.

I was expecting the kids to be a little shy at first, but they were full of energy running around from the moment they walked in.
