Numbers 9: 22-23

"Whether it was two days, a month, or a year that the cloud remained above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would remain encamped and not journey; but when it was taken up, they would journey. At the command of the Lord they remained encamped, and at the command of the Lord they journeyed; they kept the charge of the Lord, at the command of the Lord by the hand of Moses."
i was reading in my devotions when i came across these verses. the children of Israel were journeying, but like it says in verse 22, they only journeyed when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle. they would remian in the same place for two days, a month, or a year if the cloud remained above the tabernacle. imagine having to wait for a year while you are journeying! that would be pretty crazy...i thought. but it's true in life. we all probably have desires or have once desired to go somewhere, but God has you to wait. i feel like that right now, but i know that now is not the time.
this past few months, i had the opportunity to meet some of the missionaries that were here for a few weeks. they had to wait for years after praying to come here. i was impressed and encourage to hear about their patience and the faithfulness of God to answer our prayers.
Habakkuk 2:2-3, another verse that's been encouraging me...look it up.
and Psalm 37:4, which is on the picture of my last post, is good to know. sometimes i'd wonder what if my desire was of the flesh? but few months ago, i dont remember who, said that when we delight in the Lord, He will change our desires to match up with His desires for our life.
how encouraging ne?
